Class Information
SVAROOPA® classes are profoundly relaxing. Each class begins and ends with a Shavasana pose which incorporates a guided awareness that promotes relaxation and awareness. After the beginning Shavasana is a breathing practice Ujjayi Pranyama, followed by an hour’s worth of poses (asana). Class length is 90 minutes. There is a Marker pose at the beginning and end of each class to help you feel the benefits of the core releases along the spine resulting from the class. The class poses are done as a spinal sequence starting at the tailbone, progressing to the sacrum, waist and ribcage to release spinal tensions.
The emphasis is on the release of tension, rather than on stretching.
The experience of SVAROOPA® yoga brings groundedness, deep calm, greater spinal freedom, all the physical benefits of reduced tension and BLISS!
SVAROOPA® Yoga Basics: Learn the primary spinal openers as well as other foundational poses of the practice. This class is good for beginners or students who want to get more understanding of the basic poses of SVAROOPA® Yoga.
Mixed Level: Take the basic poses farther and learn more advanced poses. Classes are taught in themes. Each class builds on the next. Themes run in 4 week series and include: Daily Practice, Lower Spinal Release, Upper Spinal Release, Abdominals, Backbends, Standing, Neck & Shoulders, Forward Bends, Balance & Inversions, Classical Poses, Vinyasa and Twists.
SVAROOPA® Yoga is a supported and compassionate style of yoga. You can come to most any class regardless of your fitness or experience level. New students will need to fill out a registration form. Drop Ins are Welcome!
